Today, 42 boats set sail at Club Náutico de Altea to participate in what would be the second race of the Flying Dutchman World Championship
As opposite to the first day, with two legs taking place, today’s wind conditions only allowed one leg to be celebrated, out of the two that were scheduled.
Neat the end of the race, the regatta comittee decided to trim the circuit at buoy 3 due to the decreasing wind intensity.
By 2.30pm, the Flying Dutchman fleet was starting to come back to port with a postponenment over A, as the winds would not be high enough until past 4pm. Finally, the comittee decided to postpone the race day until next day.
Szabolcs Majthenyi and Andras Domokos, from Hungary, are still leading the race after finishing a total of three legs in first position.
The german team formed by Kay Uwe Ludtke and Kai Schäfers (Yatch Club Berlin), who yesterday ended up in third position, they climbed to the second position.
Francisco Martinez Torregrosa and Jose Luis Ruiz Giron, from Real Club Náutico Torrevieja, are still on the podium after the second day of the FDWC 2021.
Tomorrow, wednesday 7th, was scheduled as Reserve Day, but the Comittee have decided to call in for two races.
